Responsibilities
Engineering & Design:
- Prepare and review design calculations for rotary and packaged equipment such as:
- Pumps (Raw Water, River Water, HRSCC Feed, Chemical Transfer, Backwash, Sludge)
- Blowers, compressors (if applicable)
- Chemical dosing and unloading packages
- Skid-mounted packages (UF, RO auxiliaries, chlorination, dosing systems)
- Review of vendor drawings & documents:
- Mechanical datasheets
- GA drawings, P&IDs, layouts
- Equipment sizing and selection calculations
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards (API, ASTM, ASME, ISO, MSS).
Vendor Engineering & TBE:
- Prepare RFQs and technical specifications for rotary and packaged equipment.
- Carry out Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and vendor comparison for various packages.
- Review and approve vendor drawings, documents, and datasheets.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications, deviations, and optimizations.
- Review painting specifications, materials of construction, noise limits, and inspection/ testing requirements.
Interdisciplinary Coordination:
- Coordinate with Process, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for:
- Equipment layout and accessibility
- Power requirements and motor selection
- Instrumentation and control philosophy
- Support preparation of load lists, I/O lists, and equipment interfaces.
Inspection & Quality:
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
- Participate in or review:
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Performance and noise tests
- Dimensional inspections
- Review NCRs and corrective actions from vendors.
Knowledge of Codes & Standards:
- ASTM, ASME, API, ISO, EN
- Hydraulic Institute (HI)
- MSS SP standards
- Painting & corrosion protection standards
Qualifications / Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 8-10 years’ experience in project engineering.
