We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fitter

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Purpose ​

  • To carry out installation and maintenance services of Mechanical systems and repair of machinery to enhance the performance of milling equipment.

The Job

  • Observe and comply with all occupational Health and Safety procedures and meet statutory Mechanical codes.
  • Install, maintain, and repair Mechanical installations, components, and industrial equipment and machinery deployed for milling and packaging in Flour Operations, to the correct specifications and standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues, as necessary to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Carry out planned maintenance according to schedule.
  • Attend to all reported faults promptly to find solutions to reduce production downtime.
  • Carry out machine inspection tasks and update all necessary reports.
  • Ensure that all completed repairs and planned maintenance jobs are signed off, and job cards submitted to the Planning Manager.
  • Follow up on request and collection of materials needed for maintenance work to avoid delay.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English Language.
  • NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) Technical in Electrical or related discipline.

Experience:​

  • Minimum of 2 years’ cognate experience In a manufacturing environment.

The Person Must:​

  • Have good and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, shafts, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Hands-on skills in installation, fitting, alignment, and mechanical assembly of industrial machines.
  • Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, engineering diagrams, and machine manuals.
