Key Responsibilities

  • Apply professional makeup to news anchors, reporters, and guests for live and
  • recorded segments.
  • Adjust makeup styles based on lighting conditions, skin tones, and broadcast
  • requirements.
  • Ensure long-lasting, natural-looking, and camera-friendly makeup applications.
  • Provide quick touch-ups between segments to maintain a fresh on-air look.
  • Address shine, sweat, and other on-camera distractions.
  • Ensure continuity of appearance for multi-segment broadcasts.
  • Advise on-air talent on skincare routines to maintain healthy skin under studio conditions.
  • Assist with basic hairstyling and grooming, including facial hair touch-ups
  • Recommend products that work best for different skin types and on-camera performance.
  • Maintain clean and sanitised tools, brushes, and workstations.
  • Keep an inventory of makeup products and request replenishments when needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and techniques.
  • Apply special-effect makeup for themed segments, interviews, or promotional shoots.
  • Assist with makeup needs for special station events, campaigns, and promotional materials.

Person Specification

  • Certification or Diploma in Makeup artistry, Cosmetology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in makeup for television, film, or broadcast media.
  • Expertise in HD makeup techniques.
  • Strong understanding of skin tones, lighting, and colour correction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver quick, high-quality results.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced newsroom settings with tight deadlines.
