Job Summary
- The Sales Representative & Marketer will be responsible for driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and promoting the retail shop’s products—tailoring materials, gift items, and leather goods.
- The ideal candidate should have strong sales skills, good product knowledge, and the ability to market the shop both physically and online to attract new and repeat customers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and attend to their needs promptly.
- Assist customers in selecting tailoring materials, gifts, leather products, and accessories based on their needs.
- Provide product information, pricing, and usage guidance.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to increase sales revenue.
- Maintain an attractive and organized sales floor.
- Process sales transactions using POS or manual systems.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues quickly.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat purchases.
Product Knowledge & Merchandising:
- Learn and understand all product categories (fabrics, threads, lace, zippers, leather materials, ready-made gift items, etc.).
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, priced, and displayed.
- Monitor stock levels and report low inventory.
- Support in arranging and updating displays, especially during promotions and festive seasons.
- Ensure the shop environment is clean, neat, and visually appealing.
Marketing & Promotion
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase customer traffic.
- Manage and update the shop’s social media pages (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Business).
- Create engaging content—photos, videos, and promotional posts—to showcase products.
- Promote new arrivals, sales offers, and special collections.
- Coordinate local marketing activities such as flyers, banners, and in-store promotions.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends for improvement opportunities.
- Build a customer database for marketing messages and loyalty programs.
Reporting & Communication
- Track daily sales and prepare basic sales reports.
- Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and high-demand products.
- Communicate marketing results, customer insights, and new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- SSCE / OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1 - 3 years Experience in retail sales (experience with fabrics, fashion items, or leather goods is an advantage).
- Basic knowledge of marketing and social media promotion.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good sales and negotiation skills.
- Basic marketing and social media management skills.
- Product knowledge or willingness to learn tailoring and leather materials.
- Creativity in product display and presentation.
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
