Job Title: Procurement / Quantity Surveying Officer

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement/Quantity surveying Officer to join our team. The Procurement/Quantity surveying Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating the company's procurement activities, ensuring timely, Project Contract Management and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. 
  • This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent negotiation skills, vendor management abilities, and a strong understanding of procurement a best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company's operations and goals.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices and terms for materials and services.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, including RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and monitor supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and best practices in procurement.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including material schedules and equipment requirements, and subcontractor costs.
  • Measure and quantify construction work completed for progress payments and final accounts.
  • Analyze and validate contractor, subcontractor, and supplier claims.
  • Participate in project cost control, forecasting, and reporting to the project management team.
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to construction costs and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with preparing tender documents, contract negotiations, and change orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive project cost records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure timely and accurate cost management.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations to the project team on cost-related matters.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Survey, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing techniques, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
  •  Understanding of construction contracts, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary Range
N200,000 - N300,000 / Month
