Job Summary
- Our client, a fast-growing FMCG company in Abuja, is seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Executive to drive product distribution, increase market penetration, and achieve sales targets within assigned territories.
- The role involves managing distributor and retail relationships, executing sales plans, and expanding the company’s customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Achieve assigned sales targets in volume and value within designated territories.
- Develop and manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
- Execute sales strategies to grow market share and revenue.
Route-to-Market & Distribution:
- Ensure effective product availability and visibility across retail outlets.
- Manage route planning and regular market visits.
- Monitor stock levels at distributor and retail points to prevent stock-outs.
- Support distributor sales teams to improve coverage and performance.
Trade Execution & Merchandising
- Ensure proper product display, merchandising, and brand visibility in outlets.
- Implement trade promotions and marketing campaigns as directed
- Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and market reports.
- Track customer feedback, sales performance, and payment follow-ups where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company sales policies and procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of active outlets and market coverage.
- Sales volume and revenue vs target.
- Distributor performance and order fulfillment rate.
- Product availability and stock-out rate.
- New customer acquisition.
- Trade promotion execution effectiveness.
- Accuracy and timeliness of sales reports.
- Market intelligence and competitor activity reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
- 2- 3 years of Sales experience (Preferably FMCG).
- Experience managing distributors and retail channels.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and selling skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management ability.
- Results-driven and self-motivated.
- Good knowledge of Abuja markets and FMCG trade channels.
- Basic proficiency in sales reporting tools (Excel, CRM is an advantage).
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role covering Abuja and surrounding areas.
- Requires extensive market visits and travel.
