Job Title: Accountant 

Location: Eket, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A reputable organization that has a filling station in Eket, Akwa ibom State, is seeking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in filling station operations to join its team.
• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within the oil & gas/filling station environment, and demonstrate strong financial control, reporting, and compliance skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily financial transactions related to filling station operations, including sales, expenses, and inventory.
• Reconcile daily fuel sales, pump readings, cash collections, POS transactions, and bank deposits.
• Monitor stock levels and conduct periodic reconciliation of fuel and lubricants.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage payroll processing and staff-related financial records where applicable.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies as required.
• Ensure effective internal controls to prevent losses and revenue leakages.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ proven accounting experience, with hands-on experience in a filling station or oil & gas downstream environment.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Filling station experience required
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, inventory control, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
