We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Java Developer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Build scalable and secure backend services for web and mobile applications
• Implement business logic, validations, and integrations with internal and external systems
• Design and maintain relational database schemas using MySQL
• Implement data access layers using JPA / Hibernate
• Optimise queries and ensure data integrity and performance
• Develop and maintain event-driven components using Apache Kafka
• Publish and consume messages for asynchronous processing and system integration
• Deploy and manage applications onAWS(EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.)
• Work with CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Write comprehensive unit tests and integration tests
• Ensure high code quality, maintainability, and test coverage
• Work closely with Product Managers, QA, and other engineers.

Requirements & Skills

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and micro services architecture
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and JPA/Hibernate
• Experience with Apache Kafkaor similar messaging systems
• Familiarity with AWScloud services
• Experience writing unit tests(JUnit, Mockito, etc.)
• Understanding of Git-based version control systems
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Location & Work Hours:

• Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Hybrid work available upon approval). You may need to go to office once a week.
• Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
