Job Description

  • Our client is looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive accounting professional with a strong understanding of real estate financial operations.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound accounting knowledge, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced property management environment.

About the Role

  • As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations related to property development, leasing, and property management.
  • This role involves accurate financial record-keeping, monitoring income and expenses across properties, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management with timely financial reports.

Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for all properties and real estate projects.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, expense reports, and cash flow statements.
  • Track rental income, service charges, and other property-related revenue.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Manage payments to contractors, service providers, and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate vendor ledgers and payment schedules.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Raise tenant invoices for rent, service charges, and utilities.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Reconcile tenant accounts and maintain up-to-date customer statements.

Cash & Bank Management:

  • Record daily financial transactions and manage cash flow.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Support budgeting and cash flow planning for property operations.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (VAT, WHT, PAYE).
  • Maintain organized financial records for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Support external auditors with the required financial documentation.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ accounting experience (real estate or property management experience is an advantage).
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of Nigerian tax and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 monthly.
