Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager with a strong track record in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the government sector.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven experience in achieving and exceeding sales targets, building strategic relationships with government stakeholders, and managing the end-to-end business development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within local, state, and central government agencies.
  • Research and track government tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and procurement opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government decision-makers and influencers.
  • Lead the bid management process including proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, finance, legal, operations) to deliver competitive and compliant proposals.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales and revenue targets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes within the government sector.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, with significant experience in the government sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and tendering procedures.
  • Experience managing large and complex bids.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary
N400,000 - N600,000 monthly.
