We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Operator Rigger

Location: Nigeria

Mission

• The Rigger will be responsible for the preparation, installation, handling and disassembly of heavy loads, ensuring that all lifting, mooring and fastening operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with technical procedures and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and perform lifting and handling operations of loads (with cables, chains, straps, hooks, etc.);
• Inspect and check rigging equipment before each operation (hooks, straps, pulleys, chains, etc.);
• Ensure that the mooring and support methods comply with the specifications of load, weight and center of gravity;
• Work together with crane operators, maintenance team and supervisors to coordinate lifting and movements;
• Interpret technical drawings, rigging schemes and load lifting instructions;
• Ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with security procedures, internal standards and legal requirements;
• Immediately report any unsafe condition, incident or equipment failure;
• Keep the work area organized, clean and safe.

Requirements

• Minimum proven experience of 3 years as Rigger or equivalent function, preferably in industrial environment, construction or heavy works;
• Technical training in rigging, lifting operations or related areas (mechanics, industrial maintenance, construction);
• Fluent English (oral and written) — essential for team communication, supervisors and technical documentation reading;
• Knowledge of another local language or additional communicative skills is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Mandatory certifications:

• Rigging Competent Person / Rigger certificate recognized (national/international);
• Work Training at Height and Confined Spaces (where applicable);
• Industrial Safety Certificate/HSE (Occupational Safety);
• Experience in reading technical drawings and basic calculation of load capacities
• Familiarity with international safety standards (e.g. OSHA, ISO or internal company standards).

Interpersonal Skills:

• High capacity for teamwork and clear communication;
• Physical resistance and ability to work in outdoor environments and varied conditions;
• High sense of responsibility and compliance with safety standards.

Working Conditions:

• Work on the ground in Nigeria, with internal travel as needed;
• Mandatory use of PPE (helmet, gloves, safety footwear, etc.);
• Possibility of working in flexible hours.
