Job Title: Store Manager, Inventory Control

Location: Gboko, Benue 

Job Summary

• We are seeking a dedicated Store Manager, Inventory Control to plan, control and optimize inventory levels across the DCP Gboko Plant through robust inventory management, cycle counting, reconciliation, reporting and policy enforcement to reduce carrying costs and ensure material availability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records in ERP/WMS and ensure timely posting of receipts, issues, transfers and adjustment.
• Design and implement cycle count programs and full stock takes; coordinate with internal/external auditors during inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve variances between physical and system balances; propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Classify inventory (ABC/criticality) and recommend optimal safety stocks, reorder points and economic order quantities in coordination with procurement and planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce write-offs, slow moving items and obsolete stock.
• Prepare and present monthly inventory reports, ageing analysis, slow-moving lists, and shrinkage reports to Head of Stores and finance.
• Manage stores ledger reconciliations and collaborate with finance for month-end and year-end closing.
• Implement and enforce inventory control policies, documentation standards and approval hierarchies.
• Train stores staff in inventory discipline, record maintenance and cycle count procedures.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor`s Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration and similar.
• 10+years’ experience in inventory management or stores control; experience in high-value industrial inventory preferred.
• Strong excel skill; experience with ERP reporting and inventory modules (SAP/Oracle) desirable.

• Knowledge of costing and basic accounting treatment of inventory.
• Process-driven with ability to implement controls and SOPs
• Good communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
