We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage statutory reporting, tax filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Company Income Tax), and regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Support management with financial modeling and strategic planning.
  • Provide financial insights to guide operational decision-making.

Accounts Management:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure optimal liquidity management.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

  • Implement and maintain effective internal control systems.
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews and internal audits.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.

Payroll & Tax Administration:

  • Oversee payroll processing and statutory remittances.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax computations and payments.
  • Provide advisory support on tax planning and compliance matters.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports
  • Compliance with statutory and regulatory deadlines
  • Budget adherence and variance management
  • Effectiveness of internal control systems
  • Cash flow efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent certification).
  • 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage,).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 / month.
