We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Journalism Videographer / Video Editor

Location: Port Harcourt,  Rivers

About the Role

  • We are seeking a creative, skilled, and detail-driven Journalism Videographer / Video Editor to join our media team in Portharcourt.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling, has strong news judgment, and is capable of producing high-quality video content for broadcast, digital, and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality video footage for news, documentaries, interviews, and feature stories
  • Collaborate with reporters, editors, and producers to develop compelling visual narratives
  • Edit video content using professional editing software (e.g., Filmora, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
  • Operate cameras, lighting, sound, and other production equipment
  • Ensure all video content meets editorial standards and deadlines
  • Stay updated on current events and respond quickly to breaking news assignments
  • Maintain and organize video equipment and media assets

Requirements

  • A Degree or Diploma in Film/Media Production, or a related field
  • Experience with drone operation, live streaming, or mobile journalism (MoJo) is an added advantage
  • Proven experience as a videographer, preferably in a televison studioor media environment
  • Strong technical skills with professional video cameras and editing tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of journalism ethics and newsroom standards
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends or during breaking news
  • A portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous video journalism work.
