Job Summary

• The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems used in SNG operations.
• The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rotating and static equipment in compliance with company procedures, industry standards, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance:

• Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, and motors
• Maintain static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, and valves
• Carry out alignment, balancing, lubrication, and bearing replacement activities
• Inspect and maintain seals, gaskets, couplings, and mechanical components
• Support overhauls, shutdowns, and turnaround maintenance activities

Troubleshooting & Repair:

• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform root cause analysis
• Repair or replace defective components to minimize downtime
• Assist in equipment testing and performance verification after maintenance

Documentation & Coordination:

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical manuals
• Complete work orders, maintenance reports, and inspection records
• Coordinate with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, LOTO procedures, and confined space requirements
• Use appropriate tools, PPE, and safe work practices
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments

Required Qualifications

• NTC, ND, HND or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Mechanics, or related engineering field
• Must have 5–8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within oil and gas or heavy industrial environments
• Experience with rotating and static equipment commonly used in oil and gas facilities

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Knowledge of diesel and gas engines, pumps, compressors, valves, and piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools, precision instruments, and lifting equipment
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions:

• May require shift work, on-call duty, and emergency response
• Work may be in remote locations
• Exposure to hazardous environments requiring strict safety compliance
