We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Radiographer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job type: Contract
Department/Division Unit: Medical

Job Objective/ Purpose of the Job

  • To perform X-ray and ultrasound examinations for staff and act as the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority Designated Radiation safety Officer for the clinic.

Job Duties / Responsibilities  / Accountabilities

  • Perform chest X-ray examination for medical fitness (Pre-employment and Periodical).
  • Perform X-ray examinations for occupational and other medical illnesses as referred by the doctor.
  • Perform ultrasound scans as referred by the doctor.
  • Send reports to the attending doctor and document reports for recording keeping.
  • Carry out routine quality control checks on the X-ray and ultrasound machines.
  • Take daily readings of radiation level/dose within the X-ray room, the clinic and its vicinity and document for record keeping.
  • Calibrate the radiation monitoring devices.
  • Collaborate with the officials of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority during the radiation monitoring yearly visit of the clinic.

Job Specification
Education Qualification:

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. Degree in Radiography

Professional Qualification:

  • Certifications in Radiography and/or ultrasonography or its equivalent.

Experience/Skill and Competencies:

  • Not less than 5 years post-graduation experience.
  • Proficiency in operating X-ray and ultrasound machines.
  • Skill in positioning patients and selecting appropriate imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis.
  • Skill in interpretation of images.
  • Skill in radiation protection.

Key Competency Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathically with patients of all backgrounds.
  • Attention to details.
  • Effective time management.
  • Good teamwork.
