We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fitting Supervisor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job type: Contract
Reports to: Construction Superintendent
Department/Division: Mechanical / Piping

Job Summary

• The Fitting Supervisor manages the layout, fabrication, assembling, and installation of piping and structural systems. They ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to isometric drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and direct fitting operations for piping and structural works.
• Interpret complex P&IDs, Isometrics, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Manage spools fabrication and erection sequences.
• Ensure proper alignment and fit-up tolerances (gap, hi-lo) before welding.
• Coordinate with materials department for availability of pipes, flanges, and fittings.
• Oversee hydro-test pack preparation and execution.
• Conduct competency assessment of fitters.
• Ensure calibration of measuring tools and equipment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Fit-up accuracy (zero rework due to dimensional errors).
• Spool fabrication productivity (inch-dia/day).
• Successful hydro-tests.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates should possess an HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
• Trade Test I, II, III.

Professional Certifications & Licenses:

• Project Management basics is an advantage.
• HSE Certification.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years in piping/structural fitting, with 4 years as a Supervisor.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

• Advanced blueprint reading and geometric calculations.
• Knowledge of flange management and torqueing procedures.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 codes.

Physical Requirements:

• Active site walking and climbing.

Working Conditions:

• Fabrication yard and installation sites.
