We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality Inspector (Discipline) - Piping / Mech / Structural

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job type: Contract
Reports to: QA/QC Manager
Department/Division: QA/QC

Job Summary

  • Quality Inspectors verify that construction and fabrication activities meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • They are the primary authority for accepting or rejecting work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of welds, fit-ups, and installations.
  • Witness NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT) and review results.
  • Verify material traceability (Heat numbers).
  • Monitor hydro-tests and pneumatic tests.
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for defective work.
  • Compile Final Documentation Dossiers (As-built data).
  • Ensure compliance with ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Detection rate of defects.
  • Timely closure of NCRs.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess an HND/B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Metallurgical).

Professional Certifications & Licenses:

  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS CWI.
  • ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT, PT.
  • COREN (added advantage).

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years in QA/QC roles.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of ASME, API, and AWS codes.
  • Report writing skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Accessing difficult areas for inspection.

Working Conditions:

  • Site and office.
