We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Rigging Supervisor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job type: Contract
Reports to: Construction/Site Manager
Department/Division: Lifting & Hoisting

Job Summary

  • The Rigging Supervisor plans and oversees all lifting operations, ensuring they are conducted safely and in compliance with LOLER and Nigerian lifting regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Critical Lift Plans.
  • Supervise complex lifts involving cranes and multiple lifting points.
  • Inspect rigging gear (shackles, slings, chain blocks) and ensure valid certification (Color coding).
  • Select appropriate rigging gear for the load.
  • Coordinate with Crane Operators.
  • Ensure ground bearing pressure is sufficient for crane outriggers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Zero dropped object incidents.
  • Compliance with Lift Plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess an HND/Technical Diploma.

Professional Certifications & Licenses

  • OPITO/LEEA Level 3 or 4 Rigging Supervisor.
  • NSITF Compliance knowledge.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years in lifting operations.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Calculation of load weights and center of gravity (CoG).
  • Interpretation of crane load charts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Excellent vision and spatial awareness.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor, often near heavy machinery.
