We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Equipment Technician / Operator

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job type: Contract
Reports to: Procurement Manager / Head of Procurement
Department / Division: Procurement & Supply Chain

Job Summary

  • This role involves operating and maintaining specialized industrial equipment, particularly those requiring Ultrasonic Testing capabilities (UTC) or Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) related machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery or specialized testing equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and certified.
  • Keep daily logs of equipment usage and engine hours.
  • Assist in NDT operations or automated welding setups.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Equipment availability (>95%).
  • Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate should possess an OND / HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Trade Test.

Professional Certifications & Licenses:

  • Relevant Equipment Operator License.
  • Specific OEM training certificates.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years with specific machinery.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Electrical schematics reading.

Physical Requirements:

  • Dexterity and ability to lift parts.

Working Conditions:

  • Workshops and Sites.
