Job Description

  • To originate, structure, and execute bespoke financial solutions that address a broad range of client needs including financing, risk management, and investment objectives.
  • The role sits at the intersection of Trading, Sales, and Client Groups, enabling the delivery of innovative, client-centric solutions that align with the broader Global Markets strategy.
  • It contributes to building a local center of excellence for structured solutions and supports the development of scalable, high-quality products.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Client-Centric Structuring:

  • Partner with Sales and Client Groups to identify client needs and deliver value-adding solutions.  
  • Build strong relationships with Credit, Risk and other internal partners to drive transactions to completion.  
  • Champion the integration of structuring capabilities into broader client strategies. 
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory shifts to anticipate client needs and inform strategy.  

Solution Origination & Execution:

  • Design and deliver bespoke structured products across multiple asset classes, including fixed income, foreign exchange, and hybrid instruments, tailored to client-specific objectives and market conditions.  
  • Lead transaction execution including pricing, documentation, and risk analysis.  
  • Facilitate product approvals and coordinate with regulatory and internal technical stakeholders across the Group’s footprint as applicable.     

Innovation & Enablement:

  • Contribute to the development of high-quality solutions that grow the client franchise sustainably.  
  • Collaborate with Trading, BRM, and Enablement teams to optimize risk pricing and monetization.  
  • Support platform enhancements that improve delivery and scalability in line with the platform modernization plan across broader Africa (bA).  

Governance & Risk:

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory frameworks.  
  • Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and prudent risk management.  
  • Represent the team in relevant governance forums and committees.  

Team & Capability Building:

  • Recognize that this is a pioneering role in Nigeria and will require investment in building local structuring expertise in self and others.  
  • Promote a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.  
  • Champion knowledge sharing and capability uplift across the broader GM franchise.  

Requirements
Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 5–7 years minimum experience in financial markets.  
  • Sound understanding of Nigerian financial markets and the regulatory environment.  
  • Proven ability or potential to originate and execute complex financial transactions.  
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills. CFA, FRM, or similar qualification is an advantage.  

General Competencies: 

  • Demonstrate the ability to originate and structure client‑centric financial solutions that address complex funding, risk, and investment needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Sales, Trading, and other internal partners to ensure seamless solution delivery and execution.
  • Proven capability to lead end‑to‑end transaction processes, including pricing, documentation, regulatory engagement, and risk analysis.
  • Ability to innovate and contribute to scalable product development and platform enhancements across markets.
  • Commitment to building structuring expertise locally, fostering knowledge‑sharing, and supporting capability uplift across the broader franchise.
