The Rivers State University, Port Harcourt was established in October, 1980 from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology which was itself established in 1972. It is located at Nkpolu-Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria.

Requirements
Candidates for the above position must satisfy the following criteria:

• Candidates must possess a good Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division from a recognized University plus at least 18 years relevant post-qualification experience, a considerable part of which must be in a higher institution administration, preferably in a University.

Or

•  A Master's Degree plus at least a minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience, a considerable part of which must be in a higher institution administration preferably in a University.
