Job Title: Pastry Officer

Summary

  • The Pastry Officer is responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating pastries and baked products in line with company standards, recipes, and hygiene regulations.
  • The role ensures consistent product quality, timely production, and adherence to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked products according to approved recipes.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Decorate pastries and cakes to meet company presentation standards.
  • Ensure proper operation and basic maintenance of baking equipment and tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality during production.
  • Assist in inventory control of baking ingredients and report shortages.
  • Minimize waste by following portion control and proper handling procedures.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Support product development and improvement when required.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • SSCE / OND in Catering, Hospitality, or related fields (formal training is an advantage).
  • Proven experience as a pastry baker or in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to work early hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity in pastry presentation.
  • Good time management and ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good personal hygiene and professional conduct.
