The National Planning Commission and
the European Union Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria seek to recruit suitable candidates to fill the vacant positions of project officers for the implementation of the European Development Fund Programmes in Nigeria.
We are currently recruiting to fill the below position:
Job Title: Project Officer - 9th European Development Fund (EDF) Micro Project Programme in Nine (9) Niger Delta States
Job Description
- To support the office of the NAO and effective and efficient implementation and monitoring of the ongoing projects in the Nine (9) Delta States.
- The Project officer will assist in th closure of the Technical Assistant and community Development components of the programme,
- Ensure that all progress reports are received on time and are thoroughly reviewed prior to approval/onward transmission to the European Union Delegation.
- Establish a continuous technical and financial monitoring system that will generate regular, complete progress reports and safeguard internal control.
Qualification, Skills and Professional Experiences
- A minimum of Bachelors Degree in social sciences, development economics, public or business administration or reloted field;
- Experience in programme planning and management, especially familiarity with the Project Cycle Management and the Logical Framework Approach;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail;
- Computer literate, with sound working knowledge of the full range Microsoft Office programmes;
- Excellent report writing skills and communication skills;
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience working on international, donor- funded development programmes;
- Specific experience and demonstrable knowledge of EDF programmes and procedures desirable; and
- Prior experience of working on micro-projects and/or community development interventions in the Niger Delta desfirable
