We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Dispatch Manager

Location: Apapa, Lagos

Purpose

  • To Coordinate and oversee loading and dispatch activities to ensure timely and efficient operations while adhering to standard processes and procedures.
  • Optimize delivery planning to prevent customer stockouts and maintain smooth logistics operations.

The Job

  • Coordinate loading and dispatch activities in line with standard processes and procedures.
  • Monitor customer schedules and proactively plan deliveries to prevent stockouts.
  • Supervise and manage the despatch team to prevent zero-value transactions.
  • Engage registered transporters for truck allocation and optimize fleet usage.
  • Minimize internal and external demurrage for dedicated trucks through efficient scheduling.
  • Prepare and submit daily delivery loadout reports for tracking and analysis.
  • Notify corporate and dealer customers, as well as the sales team, about deliveries.
  • Evaluate dispatch performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing sector.

The Person Must:

  • Possess strong knowledge of dispatch, loading, and warehouse operations processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate daily loadout activities efficiently while adhering strictly to standard operating procedures.
  • Have proven experience in delivery planning and the ability to proactively prevent customer stockouts.
  • Be capable of engaging and managing registered transporters for effective truck allocation and optimal fleet utilization.
  • Have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including data reconciliation, pivot tables, and reporting functions).
