The National Planning Commission and the European Union Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria seek to recruit suitable candidates to fill the vacant positions of project officers for the implementation of the European Development Fund Programmes in Nigeria.

We are currently recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Project Officer, Anti- Corruption and Organized Crimes and Drugs Programme

Job Description
  • To support the office of the NAO ond the implementing agencies in the management and administration of the projects and to ensure that under the contribution agreements for the programme, the implementing partner deliver the programme as and when due,
  • The project officer will participate in the governance structures of each programme (i.e. the Sector Policy Review and Project Management Committees and the Project Steering Committee).
  • The project officer will serve as the Contact Point for the programmes within NPC and work closely with the Officer at the EU Delegation and the Project Support Unit responsible for overseeing these programmes, including pro-active participation in monthly NPC-EU technical meetings,
Qualification, Skills and Professional Experiences
  • A Minimum Degree in sociology, law, social sciences or related field;
  • Experience in programme planning and management, especially in familiarity with Project Cycle Management and the Logical Framework Approach:
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Computer literate, with sound working knowledge of the full range Microsoft Office programmes:
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills;
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience working on international, donor- funded development programmes;
  • Specific experience and demonstrable knowledge of EDF programmes and procedures desirable; and
  • Prior experience of working on anticorruption and/or anti-drugs interventions desirable
