The Candel FZE is a manufacturing company engaged in the development, production, marketing and distribution of agrochemicals, specialised fertilisers, seeds and allied products in Nigeria. It is located in the Lekki Free Zone, Ibeju- Lekki, Lagos; near Dangote Refinery.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Graduate Trainee (Analytical Chemist)

Location: Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and standards in the laboratory.
  • Sample incoming raw materials and perform laboratory tests on the materials to ensure it meets specification before receipt into warehouse
  • Prepare reagents in line with the SOP and ensure the reagents are well labelled
  • Carry out physico-chemical analysis on in-process and finish products in line with defined standard operating procedure and ensure results are well documented in the QA records
  • Ensure Laboratory equipment’s, glass wares and work bench are well maintained
  • Verify/calibrate/document laboratory equipment and ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure routine auditing of laboratory stock chemicals and glass ware and submit report to QA Manager
  • Ensure the laboratory meets good laboratory practice(GLP) standards
  • Track and Monitor performance levels in all operations on Quality, Process and Equipment through collation, analysis and storage of relevant data and dissemination to the QA manager
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports and submit to the QA manager
  • Comply and enforce PPE usage, issuance and replacement

Requirements

  • A minimum of B.Sc. Second Class Upper in Analytical Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry from any of the Nigerian Universities.
  • Our Ideal candidate is aged not more than 30years old.
  • Must have analytical skill and mindset
  • Must be familiar with and able to handle basic laboratory equipment/apparatus
  • Must have a good knowledge of Quality Assurance (ISO) and familiar with regulatory policies, standards/ specifications (NAFDAC, SON)
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and under pressure in order to release results on time
  • Good PC skills and Knowledge of Microsoft packages essential for effective report writing.
  • Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns.
