Job Title: Facility Officer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Facility Officer to oversee the daily operations, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of our buildings and grounds in Lagos.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in general facility management with technical knowledge of swimming pool systems, plumbing, and electrical works.
  • This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning facility.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance:

  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations, ensuring all building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water supply, etc.) function efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify repair and maintenance needs.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and supervise the execution of planned preventive maintenance (PPM).

Swimming Pool Maintenance:

  • Ensure regular cleaning, water treatment, and chemical balancing of the swimming pool.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and coordinate repairs of pumps, filters, and heating systems.
  • Monitor pool safety standards and recommend upgrades when necessary.

Plumbing and Electrical Oversight:

  • Supervise minor plumbing work including leak repairs, unclogging, and pipe maintenance.
  • Oversee basic electrical work including lighting, power supply, and minor installations.
  • Liaise with certified technicians for complex technical issues when needed.

Team Supervision & Vendor Coordination:

  • Lead a team of in-house technicians, cleaners, and security staff.
  • Manage relationships with service providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
  • Review and approve service reports, invoices, and maintenance contracts.

Budgeting & Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing facility maintenance budgets and monitor spending.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and inventory of supplies.
  • Report maintenance activities and facility conditions to management on a regular basis.

Requirements
Education:

  • HND / B.Sc. in Facility Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in facility management.
  • Hands-on experience with swimming pool operations, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and facility management tools/software.

Additional Information:

  • Role is based in Lagos and may involve weekend or after-hours availability in emergency situations.
  • Candidate must be physically fit and able to conduct site inspections and minor hands-on repairs when necessary.
