Job Title: Mechanical Shift In-Charge

Position Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift In-Charge with 6–10 years of hands-on expertise in Heavy Equipment Maintenance within the mining industry.
  • The ideal candidate will oversee mechanical operations during assigned shifts, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of heavy machinery such as Excavators, Cranes, Dozers, HVAC systems, and equipment from Mothercat and Volvo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities during shifts.
  • Lead troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of heavy mining equipment.
  • Ensure availability and reliability of excavators, cranes, dozers, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Manage shift teams, assign tasks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to align maintenance schedules.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and mechanics.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM guidelines for Mothercat, Volvo, and other heavy equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in mining.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Mothercat and Volvo machinery.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to manage shift teams.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and mining industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
