Verdant Acres Limited is an emerging agribusiness enterprise established to lead the development, management, and operation of fully integrated agricultural value chains in Nigeria. We are strategically positioned as a leader in the nation’s coconut oil sector, operating a state-of-the-art 22-ton-per-day coconut processing facility.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, equipment, and services required for factory and plantation operations
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of coconuts, farm inputs, and production materials
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with vendors
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production and farm teams to prevent shortages
• Maintain procurement records and supplier databases
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory standards
• Inspect delivered goods for quality and accuracy
• Collaborate with finance for invoice processing and payment follow-ups
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

Requirements and Skills

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing or agriculture
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Knowledge of inventory management practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
