Senior Accountant at ACO Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accountantto oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions.
• The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle accounting (Payables, receivables, bank reconciliations and ledgers)
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
• Maintain compliance with Nigerian tax laws, IFRS, and company policy
• Oversee budgeting, cost control and variance analysis ~ Monitor project level financial performance for solar installations and supply contracts
• Support audits, Investor reporting and tender related financial submissions
• Supervise junior accountants and ensure accuracy of entries and reports

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• ICAN or ACCA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in energy, engineering, or project-based industries is an advantage.
