Job Title: Music Production Instructor

Location: Sango Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Part-time

About the Role

  • We are seeking a skilled and passionate Music Production Instructor to train aspiring creatives in the technical and artistic aspects of modern music production.
  • The successful candidate will teach both foundational and advanced concepts, including beat-making, recording, mixing, mastering, and sound design.'This role requires a hands-on industry professional with strong technical knowledge of digital audio production tools and the ability to mentor students toward professional-level competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver structured lessons in music production and sound engineering.
  • Teach students how to compose, arrange, record, mix, and master music tracks.
  • Train participants in the use of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).
  • Guide students through practical studio sessions and project-based learning.
  • Supervise student music projects from concept development to final output.
  • Teach fundamentals of sound theory, acoustics, and studio setup.
  • Provide constructive technical and creative feedback.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in music production.
  • Support students in building professional portfolios and demo tracks.
  • Maintain studio equipment and ensure proper use of recording tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Music Production, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or related field (formal certification is an advantage but not mandatory if experience is strong).
  • Proven industry experience in music production, recording, or audio engineering.
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, or facilitating training programs.
  • Strong understanding of music theory and digital production workflows.

Technical Competencies:
Proficiency in at least one major DAW, such as:

  • FL Studio
  • Logic Pro
  • Ableton Live
  • Cubase
  • Pro Tools.

Strong knowledge of:

  • Mixing and mastering techniques
  • MIDI programming
  • Audio recording and microphone techniques
  • Sound design and sampling
  • Familiarity with studio equipment (audio interfaces, mixers, monitors, microphones).
  • Basic knowledge of audio post-production for film/television is an advantage.

Preferred:

  • Experience producing music for film, television, or digital media.
  • Knowledge of live sound production.
  • Experience working with emerging artists or youth development programs.
  • Ability to integrate local/Nigerian music styles with modern production techniques.
