Job Description
- The Technical Assistant will provide hands-on technical and administrative support to engineering, operations, and project teams across oil and gas projects.
- The ideal candidate must possess strong field experience and a solid understanding of upstream and downstream operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to engineers and project managers during project execution.
- Assist in reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Support field inspections, installations, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate logistics and technical documentation for equipment and materials.
- Monitor compliance with HSE policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in preparing daily site reports, progress updates, and technical records.
- Support procurement processes with technical clarifications.
- Liaise with contractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues during operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Marine, Petroleum) or related discipline.
- Must have 5–10 years practical experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong exposure to offshore/onshore operations, marine services, or EPC projects.
- Working knowledge of drilling equipment, marine operations, construction activities or crude oil logistics.
- Good understanding of oil & gas safety regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project documentation tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure, field-based environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (NEBOSH, ISPON, COREN, or equivalent).
- Experience working with multinational oil & gas companies.
- Knowledge of marine vessel operations (AHTS, PSV) is an added advantage.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale construction or energy infrastructure projects.
