Job Title: Civil Engineer (Road Construction) 

Location: Shendam, Plateau

Job Summary

• The Civil Engineer (Road Construction) is responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing road construction and rehabilitation projects.
• The role ensures that road works are executed according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and within budget and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design road construction and rehabilitation projects
• Conduct site surveys, soil tests, and feasibility studies
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
• Supervise road construction activities on site
• Ensure proper setting out, grading, drainage, and pavement works
• Monitor quality of materials such as asphalt, concrete, and aggregates
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, and project stakeholders
• Monitor project progress and prepare technical reports
• Identify and resolve on-site technical challenges
• Ensure proper maintenance planning after project completion

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years experience
• Relevant experience in road construction projects
• Knowledge of pavement design and highway engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering software
• Strong supervision and project management skills
• Good understanding of safety and quality control standards
