We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Tax Specialist

Location: Jabi, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Filing:

  • Prepare and file Company Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, and other statutory returns.
  • Ensure timely remittance of taxes to relevant authorities such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and respective State Internal Revenue Services.
  • Handle tax clearance certificate applications.

Tax Advisory Services:

  • Provide tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities within legal frameworks.
  • Advise clients on tax implications of business transactions.
  • Interpret updates in Nigerian tax laws and communicate their impact to clients.

Tax Audit & Investigation:

  • Represent clients during tax audits and investigations.
  • Respond to tax queries, assessments, and objections.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with provisions of:
    • Companies Income Tax Act (CITA)
    • Value Added Tax Act
    • Personal Income Tax Act (PITA)
  • Monitor amendments and regulatory changes affecting clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding tax obligations.
  • Prepare tax reports and advisory letters.
  • Support business development through tax-related proposals.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
  • Support audit teams with tax computations and disclosures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CITN) is an added advantage.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in tax practice, preferably in an audit firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
