Job Title: Guidance Counsellor

Location: Chevron, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students.
• Support students’ academic, emotional, behavioral, and social development.
• Develop and implement comprehensive school counselling programs.
• Offer career guidance and university placement support.
• Identify and support students with special emotional or behavioral needs.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to promote student wellbeing.
• Maintain confidential student records in line with safeguarding policies.
• Organize workshops on mental health, personal development, and life skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, or related field (Master’s Degree is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience as a Guidance Counsellor in a reputable school.
• Strong knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and student wellbeing frameworks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
