We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Officer

Location: Lagos (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial transactions across all sales channels, including physical stores, POS systems, and e-commerce platforms.
  • This role requires a finance professional with strong reconciliation expertise, the ability to investigate discrepancies, and the discipline to strengthen financial controls within a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, POS transactions, Payment gateways, and E-commerce sales records.
  • Reconcile store sales reports and EOD against accounting/ERP records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, chargebacks, and unidentified variances.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliation schedules and audit trails.
  • Monitor receivables and ensure timely collections.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate payables records and compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Retail Auditor to strengthen internal controls to minimize financial risk, support audit preparation, and respond to audit queries.
  • Strengthen reconciliation processes to minimize financial risk and fraud exposure.
  • Recommend automation or system improvements to enhance reconciliation accuracy.
  • Liaise with Store Supervisors and Operations teams to resolve financial discrepancies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role (retail experience is an advantage).
  • Strong expertise in financial reconciliation (Bank, POS, payment gateways, inventory).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Experience using retail-specific software.
