We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Backend Developer - NYSC

Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT) 
Employment Type: NYSC (Hybrid)

Role Summary

• As an NYSC Backend Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic for our applications.
• You will collaborate with other backend developers, frontend developers, product managers, and other team members to deliver robust and scalable solutions that power seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.
• Implement server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to frontend requests.
• Work with databases, designing schemas and writing optimized queries.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing backend systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in backend development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in Python and understanding of its frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, FastAPI).
• Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
• Understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of basic security best practices for backend development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A portfolio of projects or relevant experience showcasing your backend development skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Understanding of message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and asynchronous task management (e.g., Celery).
• Exposure to testing frameworks like Pytest or Unittest.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
