We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lead, General Ledger & Revenue Reporting

Location: Lagos

About the Role

  • The purpose of the role is to provide management with information relevant to aid decision-making aimed at operational expense efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Intercompany Accounts Reconciliation:
  • Liaise with all other Airtel Opcos for transaction closure
  • Ensure an up-to-date reconciliation of all intercompany balances
  • Ensure 100% signed-off on intercompany balances is obtained monthly

Month-End Closure Process:

  • Timely and accurate submission of all HQ required reports.
  • Ensure that HQ accounting guidelines and processes are being complied with, with no deviation.
  • Perform monthly revaluation of all foreign denominated balance and reconcile the forex revaluation to MAPA
  • Liaise with all other units within the Directorates for any variances noted during trial balance review for month end closure.
  • Ensure the closure of monthly closure of financials through the upload of the trial balance into the Hyperion Financial Management application
  • Coordinate the submission of all AGs' Alignment and DTR schedules within the Group timeline

Preparation of Financial Statements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of changes to international accounting standards
  • Ensure annual financial statements are prepared in line with current international accounting standards.
  • Coordinate all stakeholders within the business for the timely completion of annual financial statements

Internal & External Audit Exercise:

  • Facilitate the smooth running of all audit exercises within financial reporting directorate.

Ad-hoc Activities:

  • Act as a link between the Nigeria Financial Reporting team and the Group FR team
  • Ensure a prompt response to all HQ queries
  • Coordinate the activities of Airtel Money, Nxtra Limited FZE, Nxtra Limited, Telesonic, and TowerCo 

 Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Accounting or  related discipline
  • Chartered Accountant: ACCA/ACA 

Relevant Experience & Functional / Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience  in FMCG or Telecom
  • Proficient  in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Adept user of Accounting packages; Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Good Communication(Oral & Written) and Inter-personal skills
  • Detail-Oriented and Analytical
  • In-depth knowledge of the telecoms industry and strong Analytical skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
