Job Summary
- The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and delivery of all food and beverage services for events.
- The role ensures high standards of food quality, service excellence, cost control, and efficient coordination between the kitchen, service staff, vendors, and event teams.
- The F&B Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that all catering operations run smoothly while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Event Food & Beverage Planning:
- Plan and coordinate food and beverage services for corporate, social, and private events.
- Collaborate with clients, event planners, and chefs to design suitable menus based on event requirements.
- Ensure menu selections align with the client’s preferences, budget, and event theme.
- Coordinate tasting sessions and menu finalization with clients when necessary.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of food and beverage service during events.
- Coordinate kitchen operations, service teams, and logistics staff to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure food presentation, portioning, and service standards meet company expectations.
- Monitor event setup, service flow, and breakdown processes.
Staff Supervision & Coordination:
- Supervise chefs, kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and event service teams.
- Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels for events.
- Train service staff on service etiquette, food handling, and operational procedures.
- Ensure staff maintain professionalism and adhere to service standards.
Inventory & Procurement Management:
- Manage inventory levels for food supplies, beverages, and service equipment.
- Coordinate procurement of ingredients, beverages, and event supplies.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of items.
- Implement inventory tracking systems to prevent shortages or wastage.
Cost Control & Budget Management:
- Monitor food and beverage costs to ensure profitability.
- Manage portion control and minimize food waste.
- Track expenses related to event catering and ensure they align with budgets.
- Provide cost estimates for menu planning and event proposals.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are strictly maintained.
- Monitor food storage, preparation, and handling processes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain quality standards.
Customer Experience & Service Excellence:
- Ensure guests receive exceptional food and beverage service during events.
- Address client concerns or service issues promptly during events.
- Gather feedback from clients and guests to improve future service delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with repeat and corporate clients.
Reporting & Coordination:
- Prepare post-event reports including service performance, cost analysis, and operational feedback.
- Work closely with the Event Manager and Operations team for seamless event execution.
- Provide recommendations for improving food service operations and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in Hospitality Management, Catering, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in food and beverage management within the events, catering, or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of event catering operations and service standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
