Job Title: Designated Person Ashore (DPA)
Location: Abuja (FCT) and Port Harcourt - Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
- The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) will serve as the primary link between the company’s shore-based management and its vessels, ensuring effective implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) and compliance with applicable maritime safety and environmental protection regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or related discipline.
- Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer will be a strong advantage.
- Recognized training and certification as Designated Person Ashore (DPA).
- 7–10 years relevant maritime experience, including vessel operations or marine safety management.
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and safety management systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Incident investigation and risk management capability
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary marine and offshore teams
