Job Summary
- The Landing Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our international cable landing station in Qua Iboe.
- The candidate will be responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of our subsea cable systems, focusing on outside plant and power infrastructure.
- You will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining cable systems, power equipment, and facilities to support our global network.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain outside plant infrastructure, including cable landing facilities, beach manholes, and terrestrial cable routes
- Manage power infrastructure, including power systems, backup generators, and energy storage systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on project planning, execution, and troubleshooting
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures, emergency response plans, and disaster recovery strategies
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments for new cable landing projects
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
- Provide technical expertise and support for fault management, performance optimization, and capacity upgrades
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Electrical / Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in subsea cable systems, outside plants, and power infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of cable landing station design, power systems, and network architecture
- Experience with industry-standard equipment (e.g., DWDM, OADM, power conditioners)
- Proficiency in technical design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Relevant certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CTP) is an advantage
