Job Title: Haulage Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Haulage Officer is responsible for coordinating and supervising the transportation of goods from dispatch to final delivery.
• The role involves both office coordination and field supervision to ensure trucks are properly dispatched, drivers comply with operational procedures, and deliveries are completed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
Haulage Operations Coordination:

• Plan and coordinate daily haulage activities.
• Assign trucks and drivers for scheduled deliveries.
• Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods to customers or designated locations.

Field Supervision:

• Conduct field visits to loading and offloading points to monitor haulage operations.
• Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with company procedures and delivery instructions.
• Resolve operational issues such as delays, route challenges, or loading problems.

Driver & Truck Monitoring:

• Maintain regular communication with drivers while goods are in transit.
• Monitor truck movement and provide updates on delivery status.
• Report mechanical issues or operational challenges affecting deliveries.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Ensure proper preparation and collection of waybills, delivery notes, and other haulage documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, and driver activities.
• Prepare daily and weekly operational reports.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure drivers adhere to safety regulations and company transport policies.
• Monitor cargo handling to prevent damage or loss.
• Report accidents, incidents, or irregularities promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a Haulage Officer or similar role.
• Hands-on field experience in haulage or logistics operations is required.
