We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting sound financial decision-making.
  • The role involves preparing financial reports,maintainingaccurateaccounting records, managing budgets, and ensuring that financial transactions are properly documented and compliant with applicable financial regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced corporate or technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
  • Record daily financial activities including revenue, expenses, and payments.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of company accounts including bank accounts and ledgers.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insightstomanagement for strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing management reports and financial summaries.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of company budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track expenditures and ensure spending aligns with approved budgets.
  • Provide financial analysis to support operational planning.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements:

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Assistwith tax preparation, filings, and statutory financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Ensuretimelyinvoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.

Financial Controls & Risk Management:

  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
  • Monitor financial transactions and ensure accuracy and transparency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a corporate or technology-driven environment.
  • Experience managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and handling tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
