Job Title: Optician

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary 

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optician to join our team.
• The Optician will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting appropriate eyewear, interpreting prescriptions from the Optometrist, and ensuring accurate fitting and dispensing of glasses and other optical products.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and process prescriptions issued by the Optometrist.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and other optical products suited to their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences.
• Take accurate measurements including pupillary distance and fitting heights to ensure proper lens alignment.
• Adjust, repair, and fit eyeglasses for patient comfort and optimal vision.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper care of eyewear.
• Manage optical inventory including frames, lenses, and accessories.
• Maintain accurate patient and sales records.
• Ensure optical equipment and tools are properly maintained.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and address inquiries or concerns.
• Support the clinic in achieving sales targets and maintaining a well-organized optical display.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or certification in Opticianry or a related field.
• Previous experience working in an optical clinic or retail optical environment is an advantage.
• Good understanding of eyewear products, lens types, and optical measurements.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and fittings.
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and inventory management.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
