Job Summary

  • The Nursing Assistant provides support to pharmacists and healthcare staff by assisting with patient care, medication preparation support, and administrative duties within the pharmacy.
  • The role ensures efficient pharmacy operations while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications under supervision.
  • Support patient care activities, including taking basic patient information and vital signs when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace.
  • Help manage inventory, stocking, and checking expiry dates of medications.
  • Assist in labeling and packaging medications as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Provide basic patient guidance on medication usage as instructed by the pharmacist.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing prescriptions and managing patient queues.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Nursing Assistant / Health Care Assistant / Auxiliary Nursing.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in hospital, clinic, or pharmacy setting preferred.
