Bursar at the Federal College of Education, Jama'are

Federal College of Education, Jama'are, is situated in the town of Jama’are area of Bauchi state. The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) became the funding and Policy control agency responsible for the supervision of the college and all other Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

The Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Jama'are, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: Bursar

Location: Jama'are, Bauchi

Description

• The Bursar is the Chief financial Officer of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of financial affairs of the College.

Duties

• The Candidate for the position is expected to, among other responsibilities, plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the operations of the financial system of the College.
• He is expected to perform any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.

Qualifications
The candidate for the post of the Bursar must possess the following:

• A good honours Degree, or Higher National Diploma (HND), or its equivalent in Accountancy or Finance, from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least twenty-one (21) years cognate experience plus full registration with a recognized Professional Accounting Body.
• Possession of a relevant Master's Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least Eighteen (18) years of cognate experience
• Possession of a Doctorate Degree is an added advantage.
• Must be a member of a recognized Professional body in the relevant field.
• Candidate must have served as a Deputy Bursar on CONTEDIS 15.
• Evidence of Continuous Mandatory Professional Development.
• Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT); and the Successful candidate must not be above the age of Fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

Other Requirements:
Vision and Mission Statement

• The candidate must submit, in clear terms, in not more than two (2) pages, his/her vision statement for the College in the next 5 years.

Condition of Service

• The successful candidate will be entitled to the privileges and benefits of principal officers as specified in the terms and conditions of services for the federal colleges of Education in Nigeria and other conditions which may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the College in accordance with the Colleges of Education Act, and in consultation with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE).

Tenure of Appointment

• The appointment is for a single term of five years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.
