Job Title: HEMM Technician
Location: Dangote Cement R, Congo
Job Summary
- The HEMM Mechanical Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) used in quarry operations.
- The role ensures the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, and loaders.
- The technician works closely with maintenance supervisors and operators to minimize equipment downtime and ensure efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy earth moving machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform necessary repairs on equipment components.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential failures or wear.
- Maintain hydraulic, mechanical, and transmission systems of mining equipment.
- Ensure proper lubrication, adjustment, and calibration of mechanical systems.
- Assist in major maintenance activities and equipment overhauls.
- Record maintenance activities and maintain equipment service logs.
- Work closely with operators to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
- Ensure spare parts and tools are used properly during maintenance activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
- Attend training programs and participate in performance evaluation processes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Head of Department.
Profile Required
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (Bac+2/3) in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in maintenance of heavy earth moving machinery.
- Experience in mining, quarry, or construction equipment maintenance is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of heavy earth moving machinery maintenance.
- Understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical failures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
