Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • Nairametrics is looking to hire a competent Accountant to oversee financial record keeping, support financial reporting, and ensure that the organization’s financial activities are accurately documented and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • This role reports directly to the Finance Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure proper documentation of all accounting activities.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in the company’s accounting system.
  • Assistin the preparation of periodic financial reports and management accounts.
  • Monitor company income, expenses, and outstanding liabilities.
  • Prepare and process staff payroll in line with company policies.
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of organizational budgets.
  • Ensure that statutory payments such as taxes and regulatory filings are completedin a timely manner.
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes whenrequired.
  • Review financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure corrections are made.
  • Maintain and update financial databases, ledgers, and records.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Work with Finance Lead to provide financial information needed for operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA (or progress towards certification) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years experiencein an accounting role.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
