Viable Seeds Limited is an emerging agricultural seed company based in Kaduna is recruiting proactive, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial individual to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development and go-to-market strategies to drive sales growth and increase market share.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with agro-dealers, distributors, commercial farms, NGOs, development projects, and institutional buyers.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives, outgrowers, and other key value chain actors.
  • Represent the company at agricultural shows, field days, product demonstrations, and high-level meetings with government agencies, NGOs, and private-sector partners.
  • Conduct regular market assessments to gather intelligence on competitors, demand trends, and pricing, and provide strategic recommendations to the Board.
  • Lead territory and key account plans, set sales targets, and monitor performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Prepare compelling business proposals, bids, and pitch presentations for partners, donors, and investors.
  • Drive brand visibility and positioning through field marketing activities and collaboration on digital marketing campaigns.
  • Provide monthly business development and sales performance reports, including pipeline updates, forecasts, and strategic insights.
  • Work closely with operations/production teams to align demand forecasts with stock availability and ensure timely delivery and high service levels for clients.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Must have 3–5 years of relevant experience in agribusiness sales, seed/agro-input marketing, or business development.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, partnerships, and acquisition of projects or commercial contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian seed and agro-input market, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-growing company.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Kaduna and to other key producing and marketing states.
  • Good understanding of agricultural seed systems and agribusiness dynamics.
  • High level of integrity; must be honest, diligent, and of good character.
